Historic Kaleiçi (Old Town) Kusadasi
Built in the 17th century by Öküz Mehmet Pasha, the mosque, constructed with cut stones, is one of the finest examples of Ottoman architecture. Beautifully preserved from history to the present day, the mosque is still actively serving the public.Kaleiçi Hamam (Turkish Bath) As we exited the Kaleiçi Mosque through the back door, a very old house caught our attention. Its exterior is untouched, and the garden at the back is beautiful. A little further down the street, we couldn’t pass by without visiting the Kaleiçi Hamam, which has a very long history. The Kaleiçi Hamam reflects our history like a mirror. I wanted to share this with you in a photo; we recommend it as a structure worth exploring.
Places to Visit in Kaleiçi (Old Town)
I highly recommend strolling through the streets of Kaleiçi. Each street is uniquely beautiful; you can shop or watch local carpet making. You can find many interesting souvenir shops selling plates, shoes, and handicrafts. Many historic houses, although converted into shops and venues, retain their original appearance. Antiques: For antique enthusiasts, there are numerous antique shops in Kaleiçi where you can buy and sell antiques.
Kaleiçi many famous Kusadasi restaurants and bars; these establishments are long-standing and renowned. Kaleiçi is also known as the heart of nightlife. You can enjoy yourself until the early hours in traditional Turkish music houses, taverns, nightclubs, and Irish pubs. The famous restaurants are excellent in terms of food and service; if you’d like to try them, simply ask a local shopkeeper for recommendations. Kaleiçi, the tranquil area of Kusadasi, awaits you.
